Residential Waste/Recycling Service Delayed by One Day
for Week Following Labor Day
CARLSBAD/OCEANSIDE, August 24, 2006 - Waste Management of North County and Coast Waste Management’s curbside residential trash and recycling pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day throughout the week of Sept. 4, in observance of Labor Day. This means residential customers in the following cities should place their bins out for pick-up one day later than usual, beginning Sept. 5 through Sept. 9:
- Carlsbad
- Del Mar
- Oceanside
- Solana Beach
- Communities in unincorporated San Diego County, including Rancho Santa Fe and Valley Center
“Residential customers who usually receive service on Monday will instead receive it Tuesday, and so on throughout the remainder of the week, with Friday’s customers receiving service on Saturday,” said Ken Ryan, district manager. “We appreciate our customers’ cooperation with the holiday schedule so that many of our employees can observe Labor Day.”
Oceanside’s commercial trash service will run on a partially modified schedule on Labor Day due to scheduled landfill closures. All other cities’ business commercial trash and recycling services will not be affected by the holiday – these services will remain on the regular Monday through Saturday schedule for the same week.
All local Waste Management offices, recycling centers and the customer service center will be closed on Sept. 4, with normal operations resuming on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Customer service regular hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at 1(800) DUMPSTER or (760) 929-9400.
