Waste Management Announces Service Day Change in Carlsbad
Service in some regions will switch from Wednesday to Monday starting Feb. 6
CARLSBAD, Jan. 23, 2006 - Approximately 500 homes in some regions of Carlsbad will change from Wednesday trash and recycling service to Monday, starting on Monday, Feb. 6.
Residents in the affected regions will be notified through door hangers at their homes and a notice sent in the mail. The change was necessitated by growth in certain parts of the city, which has resulted in some waste routes being disproportionately larger and heavier than others.
“We continually evaluate our routes to ensure we are providing the best and most efficient service to our customers,” said Ken Ryan, District Manager for Coast Waste Management in Carlsbad. “With the construction of new neighborhoods in certain parts of the city, some of our routes have experienced large additions in recent months and years, while others have remained the same – so we are taking the opportunity now to balance out our routes.”
The following homeowners’ associations or streets are affected by the change. The last day of Wednesday trash and recycling service will be on Feb. 1; the next service day will be Monday, Feb. 6, and all Mondays thereafter.
