Residential Waste/Recycling Service Delayed by One Day for
Remainder of Week Following Independence Day
CARLSBAD/OCEANSIDE, June 22, 2006 - Waste Management of North County and Coast Waste Management’s curbside residential trash and recycling pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day in the days after the 4th of July, in observance of Independence Day. Those who receive service on Monday will not experience any delays.
Residential customers in the following cities should place their bins out for pick-up one day later than usual, beginning July 5 through July 8:
- Carlsbad
- Del Mar
- Oceanside
- Solana Beach
- Communities in unincorporated San Diego County, including Rancho Santa Fe and Valley Center
“Residential customers who usually receive service on Tuesday will instead receive it Wednesday, and so on throughout the remainder of the week, with Friday’s customers receiving service on Saturday. Those with Monday service will be unaffected by the holiday,” said Ken Ryan, district manager. “We appreciate our customers’ cooperation with the holiday schedule so that our employees can observe Independence Day.”
Oceanside’s commercial trash service will run on a partially modified schedule on Independence Day due to scheduled landfill closures. All other cities’ business commercial trash and recycling services will not be affected by the holiday – these services will remain on the regular Monday through Saturday schedule for the same week.
All local Waste Management offices, recycling centers and the customer service center will be closed on July 4, with normal operations resuming on Wednesday, July 5.
Customer service regular hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at 1(800) DUMPSTER or (760) 929-9400.
